The Archivist has been programmed to be used with the PowerBook'monitor as a minimum (e.g. 640 by 400 pixels). Of course, you can use a bigger monitor like the standard 13" or 14" having 640 by 480 pixels.
However, if your monitor is smaller, you can have an “in extremis” access to your Archivist file by using the Small Screen Option menu item of the Utilities menu. This capacity is available for very critical situations when you must access your Archivist file on a Macintosh SE, Classic, IILC with 12" monitor, etc...
By grabbing one of the four sides of the miniature lower left windoid, you can then reduce to ± 1/4 the size of the regular Archivist window. You can scroll this small frame within the windoid to navigate on the regular size window. If you double-click this small frame, you will get back the regular size window if, of course, you are experimenting this on a 13" or bigger monitor. This is interesting for those of you who want to access the Finder icons under system 7.1 or more recent. To do this, try shrinking the right side of the windoid frame by pushing it to the left. You will then see your desktop icons. By double-clicking this small frame, the Archivist will spread back on the screen.
At the upper left part of the screen, you will notice a small Macintosh windoid with 4 clickable arrows to help you under restricted monitor situations.
